Isn’t it amazing how a shower can completely change your mood for the better? Now imagine a relaxing shower but 1000 times better. That’s how it feels when you add these Regal Rituals Shower Steamers to your spa day bathroom.
It’s the perfect way to kickstart pampering yourself for your at-home spa day on a budget! These shower steamers will take your shower to the next level especially since they contain both eucalyptus oil and menthol.
The eucalyptus oil helps provide a calming spa-like environment and the menthol provides a refreshing, rejuvenating and therapeutic shower experience! I seriously cannot imagine a better way to start my at-home spa day!
These shower steamers are a non-negotiable when it comes to my at-home spa day. I love that it’s easy to use, super affordable and can rest assured that it’s made in the USA from high-quality ingredients! After all, I only want the best when it comes to taking care of my body!
It’s amazing how the aromatherapy can be healing to both mind and body. But you know what? Don’t just take my word for it. Read all about the benefits of shower steamers for yourself! The revitalizing scent of the eucalyptus helps clear my sinuses and the cooling effect of the menthol helps to wash my stresses away. It really does give my home shower a luxurious spa-like feel and I almost forget that I’m on a budget!
As a matter of fact, my husband and kids absolutely love these shower steamers as well. The relaxing spa-like showers and infused aromas help soothe sore muscles, ease tension, improve overall attitude and relieve allergic reactions.
It’s such a budget friendly hack to luxurious living that the entire family can enjoy!
2. Skin Care
Skin care is an important part of pampering yourself and is next on the agenda of our at-home spa day checklist! Skin care actually starts during our therapeutic shower with a good body scrub. There are so many budget-friendly options on the market but honestly, a DIY scrub is just as good.
I usually alternate between sugar and fresh coffee grounds as budget body scrubs that also have incredible benefits! In addition to them exfoliating and revealing softer, radiant skin, these scrubs also increase blood circulation and helps me feel relaxed and at ease.
Coffee grounds are also loaded with antioxidants which fight premature skin aging, tightens pores, reduces inflammation and reduces body acne. Plus, it means you get to enjoy a cup of coffee right before your shower! It’s definitely a win-win for me!
My skin care continues after my shower with cleansing my face, a face scrub (usually just sugar) to exfoliate, toner, a vitamin c serum and moisturizer.
Don’t forget to moisturize the rest of your body too!
3. DIY Pedicure/Manicure & Massage
After showering and skin care, I love incorporating a relaxing pedicure into my at-home spa day. I love using my chair pad massage cushion during this time while I soak my feet in soapy warm water.
The oh-so-heavenly feel of the heated vibrations against my back while the tepid water laps around my feet and between my toes – you’d swear I was paying hundreds of dollars at a high-end, luxurious salon!
While soaking for 20-30 minutes, I suggest sitting back with your eyes closed. You can pace your breathing and mentally adopt a positive frame of mind.
This is also a great time to practice gratitude and focus your mind on God. I do believe that the perfect at-home spa day targets mind, body AND SOUL!
My foot soak ends with a good foot scrub (hello again coffee grounds!), moisturizer and nail care. I don’t usually do DIY manicures but by all means, add this to your own at home spa day checklist if it’s a priority to you!
4. Polish your Nails
Finish up your hands and feet with a pretty polish. I use an at home gel polish kit which I purchased a few years back, in true bougie on a budget style! I can’t tell you how much money this thing has saved me! I’ve been using it for years and my nails always look like I just left the salon!
5. Hair Care
They always say that your hair can make or break an outfit. So, to wrap up my budget spa day, I dedicate some time to caring for my hair. This usually includes moisturizing, blow drying and either flat ironing or curling based on my mood.
It means that I’ve pampered myself from the top of my head to the tip of my toes and at the very end of my at-home spa day, I’m left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, both inside and out!

They’ll boost your energy, set the relaxing mood for the day, melt your stress away AND help alleviate respiratory allergies.
New to shower steamers? Don’t worry, you can learn all about how to use shower steamers here!
2. Body Scrub & Face Scrub – Scrubs are another must have on my list of spa day essentials. Some might prefer to purchase these, and if you do have the budget, by all means feel free to add it to your collection. However, I always use homemade scrubs as I find them just as effective. Sometimes I’ll add a few drops of essential oils and sometimes I even mix my sugar scrub with honey.
3. Face Mask – This is optional. I do not usually do face masks but if you want to add this to your spa day agenda, go right ahead!
4. Foot Spa – Many people own a foot spa which they use to do their foot soaks and pedicures. But, let me let you in on a little secret: I’ve never owned one and probably never will! I do all my pedicures and soaks in a container that I bought from the Dollar Tree! I add some warm, soapy water and boom! Foot spa!
5. Moisturizer – This one is a no brainer, right? This comes in handy after the scrubs and soak.
6. A Small Towel – I use this during my DIY pedicure.
7. Nail Tool Kit & Nail Polishes – A nail clipper, cuticle trimmer and file are sufficient.
8. Chair Pad Massage Cushion – This is also optional, but really elevates my at-home spa day! It’s a great way to add in a massage to your DIY spa day when you have no one there to do it for you!
9. Scented Candles – Again, this is optional but can elevate the mood and take your spa day to the next level.
10. Hair Products – Many people do not consider hair care as a part of a spa day, however if you’re like me, and you want to look and feel good from head to feet, add your preferred hair products to your list of at home spa kit essentials!
Bonus Tips for the Most Relaxing Spa Day at Home
When it comes to ensuring that your spa day at home is set for success, here are a few tips that you’ll want to follow.
• If you’re a mom, plan your day in advance.
Ask for help with babysitting or ask hubby to entertain the kids for a few hours. The last thing you want is to have to jump out of the shower because one of the kiddos is hungry for the 87th time for the day!
• Take Advantage of Naptime
If you can’t get someone to help, consider doing your spa day during naptime or even after the kids go to bed at night. C’mon Mama, you totally deserve some YOU time!
• Don’t Forget you’re on a Budget – But still Spoil Yourself!
Don’t skip on the luxuries but don’t overspend either. Remember you’re on a budget! For example, I make my own scrubs to save money, but the shower steamers are non-negotiable. They provide a level of luxury that I just can’t skip on.
• A Calming Playlist is Free
Add a calming playlist. It’s free but yet it makes the experience 1000 times better!
